About the Grant

How to apply
1. Find and appoint a Registered SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen (Solar PV) Company. Before you apply for your grant, you must choose your preferred company and agree a formal contract with them for the agreed work.
2. Grant applications must be complete on https://mgen.seai.ie/ The SEAI will review and once approved you will receive confirmation from them. Do not start works until you receive your approval. Grant offers are valid for eight months from the date you receive your approval.
Getting installed
Once approval is received your Solar PV installer will receive notification. They will then apply to ESB Networks to connect the solar PV system to the electricity network. This will be done before installing the solar PV system. Once your connection to ESB has been approved, the installation can go ahead.
Grant Payment
Once install is fully completed your Solar PV installer submits evidence of works to SEAI via a secure portal. Once all are received the SEAI will make the grant payment, advising to allow between 4 to 6 weeks for payment.
