Background The Arbutus Innovation Centre, part of the Life Sciences Innovation Hub & Soft Landing Space, is a dynamic space supporting life sciences and technology companies in Athlone. To meet its growing energy demands while embracing sustainability, the centre sought a renewable energy solution to reduce its carbon footprint and operational costs.
The Challenge With a strong focus on innovation and sustainability, the centre wanted to lower its reliance on traditional grid electricity and reduce energy costs, while also minimizing environmental impact.
The Solution Arbutus Innovation Centre installed a 3D grid-connected Solar PV system. The system consists of 45 high-efficiency Q Cells PV modules installed across 104.8 m², with a total output of 22.05 kWp. This advanced setup includes one Fronius Symo inverter with a sizing factor of 126%, ensuring maximum efficiency.
Covering a substantial portion of its energy consumption, the centre benefits from a reliable, sustainable power supply.
