Electrical Engineer

The Role:
- Responsibility for overseeing the successful development and design of Solar PV projects by the Design Team.
- Manage, support and develop the members of the Design team.
- Carry out regular Design Department meetings where workload schedules will be planned and assigned.
- Produce Engineering/Electrical drawings, costing estimates and bill of materials including use of industry software such as PVSol.
- Work closely with the Sales and Project teams providing technical solutions and ensure all estimates are accurate.
- Plan and oversee procurement related to project design and execution.
- Ensuring all designs to meet required standards and other appropriate legislation.
- Conduct site specific surveys to capture clients’ requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and present data analysis as required during the clients’ journey.
- Complete Electrical Services Feasibility Study and Energy Efficiency Reports, including Solar PV, LED Lighting and Electric Vehicle Charging.
- Attend weekly internal/external meetings and present project progress updates.
- Continuously drive safety, quality, and efficiency measures across all projects.
- Drive departmental KPI’s and challenge improvement.
- Upskill and attend training as required.
Skills and experience required:
- Qualified Electrical or Mech-Elec engineer with a 5 to 10 years’ experience is required.
- Previous experience in electrical estimating and procurement.
- Proven experience in industrial electrical design and cost estimation.
- Previous electrical experience and knowledge of LV/MV and strong knowledge of electrical systems, including AC and DC circuits.
- Knowledge of Solar PV industry software, Irish regulations, and Industry standards.
- Understanding of applications, Grid connections, Grant and SEAI requirements.
- Ability to produce technical drawings and electrical diagrams.
- Strong management and motivational skills including a proven track record in leading and developing staff in a team environment.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and people skills a must.
- Proven ability to adapt and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Self-motivated with an ability to manage multiple objectives.
- Skilled in adapting to requirements of numerous, constantly changing design demands.
- Proficient in all aspects of health and safety of the build.
- Must be proficient MS Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, and Adobe Pro with experience presenting.
- Full and clean drivers licence.
- Must be eligible to work in Ireland.
